Stephen Rook FWCB
Craftsman in forged steel

Steve has recently relocated workshops, from Newlyn forge Bushey in Hertfordshire to his new premises near Hambleden, a short drive from Henley on Thames. The tranquil setting of the Chiltern Hills provides inspiration for the natural forms Steve regularly incorporates in to his work

Steve has been established as a blacksmith for over 26 years and is a Silver Medal holder of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths

Steve creates one off forged metalwork commissions, for private and public clients, using traditional and modern techniques. The method itself is simple enough - lengths of iron, heated in the forge, are brought to the anvil, where they are hammered and worked with different tools. It is the craftsman’s passion and energy which infuses the metal with a life and character of its own. Design and material coalesce into one harmonious whole.
